The mechanics and design of traditional British stone masonry

This is a book written by a practicing stonemason and it was written to explain the mechanics and design of traditional British stone masonry. As such, it accomplishes its purpose admirably. It could have used some judicious editing to make the text more readable.

This book was amazing. My husband is a stone mason, and found this book to be SO. Helpful :) it doesn't have to have glossy, color photos. It shows how to do different techniques and make different things. Highly reccomended for a serious mason.

Stonemasonry

I became interested in the art of stone masonry a couple of years ago. This book is by far the most excellent one I have seen, and I have researched back as far as the 1870's. Mr. Cramb is definitely an artisan beyond compare.
If for aesthetic value alone, this book would be worth every penny.
