Doug Vucevic: Upon an early retirement from the IBM Development Lab in Toronto, where he had worked as a software developer, Doug has been working as an independent consultant to major banks, insurance and retail companies in Toronto, in the field of Software Engineering. Doug's consulting assignments have been in leading quality assurance and testing efforts for: data warehousing, BI and Data Mining in financial, insurance and retail industries. Doug holds Masters' Degree in Electronics and Telecommunication and is a member of the Registered Professional Engineers of the province of Ontario. Wayne Yaddow: Wayne Yaddow has spent more than twenty years developing and testing operating system code at IBM. During the most recent ten years, he devoted his time as an IT consultant, conducting QA on data migration and data integration for large data warehouse projects in the financial industry. While working as a consultant, he shared his data warehousing knowledge with many colleagues on the Internet and in work assignments in New York City.

Good basic data warehouse guide

As someone with experience in software development and testing, but new to data warehouse, I am finding this book to be helpful. The information is presented in a way that is easy to understand, and there are a lot of useful examples and checklists. This will be a helpful guide for progressing with my ETL testing. My only issue with this book is the very sloppy editing, which becomes very distracting at times. I deducted 1 star for that.

Clearly an improvement over the previous edition _Testing_the_Data_Warehouse_Application_ but still disappointing. The authors describe what you might do without explaining why. This is a serious topic that deserves a better reference.

Several of the examples are very poor. They do little to explain the concepts and the code itself is frighteningly amateur.

"The majority of the recipes in this book were previously published in COOKING WITH CHOCOLATE: ESSENTIAL RECIPES AND TECHNIQUE" which was published in 2011.

There was no indication of this on the page and I bought this book not knowing the contents are pretty much the exact same. This book is much smaller in size with less recipes. If you are thinking of buying this I would strongly suggest you get the 2011 one instead. The design and layout of COOKING WITH CHOCOLATE is much more pleasing to look through and also when comparing the same recipes I find that CWC offers some useful notes that are omitted in CMC.

Great book for experienced bakers and chocolate makers!

A very nice recipe book for the home baker and chocolate maker. I feel that the user must have a working knowledge of baking and chocolate world. Not really for beginners. Contains great recipes, photos and instructions but not much on technique or the ins and out of working with chocolate. I have experience and love the recipes.

Great medical review book!

Bought this my first year of medical school and flipped through it once during my pharmacology course. THAT was a MISTAKE! Currently, in my second year of school, I am using this book as a fundamental class and board study resource! It is very well organized grouping drugs by class and by body system. Basic physiologic/biochem concepts are explained in each chapter so that the pharmacology of the drugs are presented in the appropriate context. This is a great book for a medical student to use as a quick reference when studying pharm!

I was a big fan of Lippincott pharmacology during my med school days, now I convinced my wife who is preparing for USMLE to buy this book. She loves it. The book is full of pictures (often hilarious) and its simple way of explaining concepts is a joy to read.
Pharmacology is a dry subject to retain but this book makes it a joy to learn.

The text provides accurate highlights of Peterson's career and the people important to it. The way Laura Jacques depicts the wonder of the young naturalist upon seeing the swirl of golden shafts on a resurrected flicker--a transforming moment in his life--perfectly captures the zeitgeist of this book.

For the Birds would be a treasure for any youngster who seems keen on nature, for their parents, and for teachers and librarians who themselves might wish for more insight on what motivates a love of the natural world.

Great book for the classroom!

This biography of Roger Tory Peterson takes us through his childhood and into his role as an environmentalist. It's full of great details and anecdotes of both his childhood and adulthood. At almost 3,500 words, this is not a read-aloud-in-one-sitting picture book. It great for independent readers, especially ones with an interest in birds and wildlife. The back matter gives more details about Peterson and his legacy.

I bought for my daughter's Botany block for homeschooling. She (age 11) was captivated reading about Tory Peterson. The illustrations and colorful and lovely. Can be read to and by much younger children as well. Great for our bookshelf.
